Ballroom Babies
Ballroom Babies is a fun, interactive class for parents and babies from 6 weeks-walking!
Ballroom Babies is about you! Just because you had a baby doesn’t mean you can’t learn something new, have fun with your bubba and get fit dancing.
Ballroom Babies was born, pardon the pun, from hearing about mums going to classes for their babies, and never getting to do something for themselves. Ballroom babies is more about parents than it is about your new mini you’s. During the class the parent has their baby strapped to them, or even sleeping in a pram. Parents will be taught basic steps in all the Latin dances like Cha cha cha and salsa. We dance to Latin rhythms with the instructor up the front leading the way. Babies often go to sleep during the cha cha of all dancers when in a baby carrier!
Tried and tested in London, Joseph is back in Melbourne and keen to get this class up and running again with Jo.
The benefits are wide and varying for both parents and babies. For grown ups, its fitness, learning something new, and meeting other parents. And for the babies, the development for their wee brains are immeasurable. It’s also a positive bonding experience for you together.
Every Thursday at 11am. Casual or one month sign up options available!
About Joseph
Joseph (J) has been teaching dance for over two decades now. Starting with Latin and Ballroom, and moving through Salsa to Argentine Tango, where his heart now lies.
Joseph moved to London in 2007 to advance his dancing and had subsequently become well know all around Europe for his teaching of Argentine Tango.
Now back in Melbourne, he wishes to share his knowledge and love for dance with Australia. In his free time he enjoys djing, rock climbing, cooking and getting amongst nature.
Joseph is available for Wedding Dance Lessons, as well as for Tango private lessons at our East Brunswick studio via the First Dance Melbourne website, and hopes to start Ballroom Babies at our studio very soon.
